Ford is making way for the new model year for the F150. We just hit 2014 so it will be a little while until we see it, but the 2015 is on its way. There isn’t a lot of information on it out there right now but there are some things we do know. The style of the truck is something that’s already been seen in the Baja 1000 from the 2013 off-road race. This outstanding new truck is made out of aluminum almost everywhere. The cab and the bed is made from aluminum with steel only making up a few key components of the design. Some of those components are naturally the frame and side-impact beams.
Something we’re betting you didn’t know about the new F150 is that it is ready to plow snow. In models past, this truck wasn’t designed properly for the use with a snow plow. If you’re living in the northern climates where digging your way out of snow is important, this feature is great. Plow away without worrying that your electrical system might be compromised.
We mentioned before that the bed is made of aluminum. We know this leaves many wondering if it would be strong enough for all of the hauling and work that truck beds are made to withstand. Fear not. The bed is actually stronger due to the thicker gauge of aluminum used instead of the heavy steel. The use of aluminum makes the truck more light-weight as well.
One of the most interesting features is the almost flush rear window. Usually the rear window is split into sections to allow it to open in the middle. This window is one solid piece that has an opening in the center which appears to just hover in the middle giving it a magical look. This is a new sleek design that is sure to be more appealing.
Another new feature of this masterpiece is that it isn’t just held together by nuts and bolts. It is also assembled using gluing, riveting and some welding techniques. If you’re thinking of a new work truck or one just to ride around town in, check out the 2015 F150 when it comes to Johnson Brothers Ford. You won’t be disappointed.
